7 Clues that your “Shadow Self” is running the show! (and what to do about it…)

No one likes to feel trapped, and at the mercy of “bad luck” or circumstances. But even worse? Knowing you are sabotaging yourself, and not knowing how to change!

Here are 7 clues that I consistently hear form clients as to how they know they need some help processing:

  1. Getting triggered! (This is DEFINITELY your non-conscious mind trying to protect you by using “old programming”. Need I say more?)

  2. Getting Stuck: Maybe you can recognize the sensation of feeling stuck, but you have no clarity about how to move forward to change and grow past it.

  3. Crisis mode: This is the I’m-just-working-on “making it through the day” way of life. The point is: if it’s a way of life, it’s keeping you from reaching forward.

  4. Self-Sabotage: Thoughts and behaviors of any kind that set you back, and kill momentum. (includes things like: emotional eating, addiction of any kind, avoidance/procrastination, automatic negative thoughts that come from an OVER-active inner critic.)

  5. Dreams: Either disturbing, confusing, or recurring dreams that don’t leave you feeling empowered, refreshed and motivated. This can be your inner critic searching for resolution during the only time you are quiet!

  6. Childhood events, unresolved: Events you keep remembering that stick with you, but come with no insight as to why they are coming up, or how to gain resolution.

  7. Emotions: Think of your emotions as the dashboard of your inner mechanism. Rather than ignoring them, stuffing them, or pulling the plug so they go away; consider that being angry, or sad “for no reason” has an unconscious root that needs “current me” to provide some direction!

What should you do?

Stop ignoring these signs that your “operating system” (running behind the scenes of your day-to-day life) is in need of some direction from your current self.

These internal conflicts take up a tremendous amount of energy, and create emotional “noise pollution” that can really interfere with anyone’s ability to be their best self.

Studies show that these types of patterns (which maybe you have recognized?) require a set of skills to address that can be learned!!

This is what 3-D therapy is all about! It’s not hypnotism, or something “happening to you;” it’s education. It’s me coaching you through a specific process, and teaching you tools you can use immediately to help tell yourself the truth.

The goal is to disengage yourself from the obligation to stay stuck with old, out-of-date “programming” that keeps you in survival mode!
